Horizon Systems: 2880/3840  |  4800/5760/6720  |  7680/8640/10080 | How Grid Tied PV Works

The Solar Market Horizon Series is a line of complete solar electric systems that tie into the existing electrical service in your home or business. Photovoltaic panels convert sunlight into electricity and an invertor connects the panels to your existing electrical wiring. The electrical power produced is available for immediate use, and any excess power produced during the day turns your electric meter backwards, generating a credit. At night or on cloudy days you draw against that credit by using electricity provided by the normal utility connection. You can choose a Solar Market Frontier System that will produce clean, renewable solar power for a portion or all of your electricity needs.

  1. Solar Panels convert sunlight directly into electricity.
  2. Inverter converts the solar electricity (DC) into household current (AC) that can be used to power loads in the house.
  3. System Monitor is an easy-to-read digital meter that shows the homeowner the amount of electricity generated both cumulatively and daily.
  4. Utility Meter tracks power usage and production, spinning forward when electricity is used from the grid, and spinning backwards, generating a credit, when the solar system creates more electricity than is used in the house.
