Projects:

Here are a few of the many projects we have recently completed:

Tannery Mall--Newburyport, MA

We provided turn-key service for this 60kW installation, including obtaining a grant from Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, design, supply, installation, and comissioning.

The majority of the system is mounted on the roof using ballasted (no penetrations) racks.

Roof-mounted array

The system provides about 90% of the common-area electricity usage. To increase the impact of the system on the Mall's businesses and patrons, a tracking array stands tall in the parking lot, and signs outside and inside the mall explain the system benefits.

Private Residence--Kennebunkport, ME

Located on an organic farm, this 4.8 kW system is tied into the grid. That is, the house has power from the utility company and from their own solar system. In this case, the system output over the course of a year is often near their total electricity consumption. In the summer months they build up a credit, turning their electric meter backwards, that they draw down during the shorter days in winter.

The system includes battery back-up for critical loads--heating system controls, a few lights, and their freezers full of organic beef.

The system uses four tracking arrays that follow the arc of the sun across the sky each day, increasing the output by 25%.
